Analyzes, develops and evaluates systems. Improves and maintains current systems or creates brand new projects. Designs and drafts blueprints, visits systems in the field and manages projects. Applies engineering techniques and analyses within the scope of the assignmentJob SummaryThe Manufacturing Technology Sr. Engineerrole is responsible for partnering with various business partners gathering technical proposals, design and development of numerous Manufacturing Technology projects primarily, but not limited to, support of manufacturing line processes. This position will act as the technical SME managing projects & working in collaboration across the Niagara network with both internal and external stakeholders contributing to: software architecture design, creation of SOW's leading to the development of manufacturing software applications, integration into various enterprise systems, managing project pilots, and analysis of data collected justifying future project deployments.Essential Functions* Design, modify and deploy Manufacturing Technology Solutions through various software's across multiple sites.* Specify hardware requirements and assist in the design of software systems dedicated to capturing process information related but not limited to OEE, FPY, Scrap, Rework, productivity, downtime analysis, and predictive maintenance.* Recognize potential problems with existing equipment and develop solutions with the ability to adapt to various engineering designs, applications, and process criteria.* Create dashboards and reports that present production data to plant staff and management.* Perform data analysis using software tools to model and develop new understanding of manufacturing opportunities.* Develop business logic when certain events are detected in operations to minimize the cost impact of the events.* Lead and work with internal stakeholders to identify their requirements and develop innovative solutions that meet and exceed these needs.* Create and organize documentation on all MT solutions to facilitate knowledge transfer to Niagara manufacturing sites.* Investigate equipment failures and difficult to diagnose faulty operations, and make recommendations to engineers, suppliers and customers.* Proactively engage with customers in order to define the overall technical approach for Manufacturing Technology solutions.* Maintain technical skills and knowledge and keep them continuously updated.* Assist in the development of Asset Management Systems and Computerized Maintenance Management systems.* Provide oversight and guidance for project timelines and deliverables, as required* Manage & report on project progress against schedule.* Lead and participate in strategic and tactical planning sessions.* Provide guidance and mentorship while supporting development of team members* This position requires up to 40-50% travel* Please note this job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without prior notice.Qualifications* Minimum Qualifications:o 2 Years - Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environmento 2 Years - Experience in Positiono 0 Years - Experience managing people/projects *experience may include a combination of work experience and education* Preferred Qualifications:o 4 Years - Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environmento 4 Years - Experience working in Positiono 2 Years - Experience managing people/projects*experience may include a combination of work experience and educationCompetencies* Strong exposure to Manufacturing Technologies including MES, LMS, CMMS, automated data collection, visualization, quality, efficiency in manufacturing, automated decision control, workflow, database applications, scheduling, and interface to ERP systems.* Proficiency in, but not limited to:o Microsoft Office Applications - Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Projects, Visio, etc.o Oracle Business Systemso Efficiency Improvement Analysis Applicationso New System Implementation & Administrationo Project Management* Able to translate data into recommendable actions to senior staff* Strong analytical and problem solving skills* Self-Motivated with a proven record of taking the initiative* Able to work with minimal supervision* Detail-Oriented with Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills* Able to execute tasks in a very dynamic and ever-changing environment* Exercise sound judgment and ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce*experience may include a combination of work experience and educationThis position embodies the values of Niagara's LIFE competency model, focusing on the following key drivers of success:
