Job Description:
An exciting and challenging position has recently opened for an
Nurse Manager over the Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU) at this Los
Angeles Area Medical Center. Apply today to learn how you can join
this outstanding and award winning hospital, and lead a team of
dedicated and talented Nurses.
The Inpatient Pediatrics Intensive Care Nurse Manager will join an
outstanding medical center and play an important role in supporting
the clinical and administrative mission of the health system. This
200+ bed medical center has earned a reputation for outstanding
patient care and employee engagement. This medical center has
earned national praise for its award-winning Pediatric Surgery and
Inpatient Programs, and local acclaim for it's commitment to
advancing community health and education.
Reporting to the Women's and Children's Services Nursing Director,
the PICU Nurse Manager will play an important role in leading
administrative and clinical operations. Supported by a Certified
Pediatric Nurse (CPN) Patient Care Supervisor, as well as a tenured
Pediatric ICU Charge Nurse.
This RN Manager will lead a 10-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
that is designated by the CCS as Level II. Pediatrics experience at
this level of acuity or above will be necessary to meet regulatory
requirements. This is a perfect role for a compassionate and
experienced Nurse Leader with Supervisor or Manager experience in
their background to take the next step in their management career
under the mentorship of an amazing nursing leadership team.
The PICU Nursing Manager will take on an important role in the
operations of this department. This role will provide very limited
bedside care, primarily as break relief and in emergency situations
when it's all hands on deck. Instead of bedside responsibilities,
this person will support educational programs for the staff, will
mentor young nurses who are just starting out, and will serve as a
subject matter expert.
The Manager of Pediatric Nursing will also get to serve as
hospital-wide leader through optional participation in committees
for employee experience, patient satisfaction, and quality
improvement. Working in collaboration with leaders in finance and
operations, the Supervisor will also get to make significant
impacts on improving the operational efficiencies of this unit.
The Nursing Manager of PICU will find that Southern California has
something wonderful for every type of person. You'll find hundreds
of amazing neighborhoods, each with a diverse flavor, culture, and
feeling of its own. From the warm, sunny beaches and surf of the
Pacific Ocean to the lights and sounds of Downtown Los Angeles, to
the sprawling beauty of Orange County your days and nights can be
filled with activity. If the Operations Director needs a bit of
peace, the quiet expanses of the desert and palm gardens are just a
short drive to the east. Amazing school systems, classic family
friendly attractions like Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm, and a
great standard of living make the area around Los Angeles a great
place to think about family.
In addition to the support that comes with working at a reputable
and progressive hospital, you'll also find support from those above
and below. As part of this trusted health care system, the Acute
Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse Manager will also find a generous
benefits package and competitive compensation that includes annual
bonus potential and merit increases, shift differential, and even
sign-on and relocation incentives.
